Sewing Sunday: Medieval Hair Bow

You must know by now that I love to make hair bows, and as the warm weather and sunshine increases, I'll be wearing them more and more :)

The pattern on this fabric is my absolute favourite in the history of fabrics! It's from an old National Trust tie of my dad's that I carefully unpicked so that I could use every last scrap!
(surprisingly, a lot of fabric goes into making a tie)

I backed it with a black Satin and used a medieval-looking faux pearl embellished button to compliment the design.
As a extra touch, I always sew a guipure lace flower on to the back of any elastic bows - it's more 'chic' that way.
